The fifth edition of Lumikai’s State of India Interactive Media Report landed with significant pickup across India’s leading business and technology press, with several findings driving the broader conversation around where consumer attention and spend are shifting.
Among the most widely covered findings was India’s microdrama market crossing $300 million in revenue just over a year after launch, and projected to reach $4.5 billion by 2030. Much of the coverage highlighted the broader consumer behavior shift toward mobile-first formats built around clear user intent.
Another key theme was India’s gaming market surpassing $1.5 billion, supported by a base of 555 million gamers and meaningful gains in payer conversion. Publications also picked up on the reports findings around high-intent verticals such as astro-devotion and micro-learning, where Indian consumers are showing stronger willingness to pay for niche digital experiences.
Several publications also picked up the report’s wider thesis of a $13.8 billion interactive media economy increasingly defined by mobile-first, vertical, and high-intent formats across video, gaming, audio, social media, and AVFX.
Leading outlets including The Economic Times, Business Standard, Fortune India, Moneycontrol, and Digit.in covered the report and its implications.
