Interactive Live Quiz Startup Supernova Raises $1.1Mn Funding From Lumikai, Others

Lumikai has backed Supernova's $1.1Mn pre-seed round alongside Kae Capital, All In Capital, Goodwater Capital, Nandan Reddy, Phani Kishan and Kunal Khattar. Supernova set out to tackle the high acquisition costs, steep course pricing and limited learning outcomes of traditional edtech, using pedagogies centred on interactivity and experiential learning for STEM subjects. Aimed at children aged 4 to 12, it took a live quiz approach with bite-sized lessons drawn from the CBSE curriculum.

Lumikai sees systems of play and gaming best practices as a powerful force for disruption in edtech, and backed the team of former operators to reimagine children's education through game-based learning by doing.
