[Funding Alert] Studio Sirah Raises $830K Seed Investment Led By Lumikai

Lumikai has led an $830K seed round in Studio Sirah, a Bangalore-based studio building mid-core, India-first mobile games. Angels including Akshat Rathee of NODWIN Gaming, Alexis Bonte of Stillfront Games, Piyush Shah of InMobi, Roshni Rathi of BCG and Sameer Pitalwalla of Epic Games also participated. Brothers Abhaas Shah and Prateek Shah are using the funds to build their first game, Kurukshetra: Ascension, a card battler inspired by the Mahabharata and the Ramayana that combines strategic gameplay, immersive art and a deep progression system, with plans to bring India's mythological stories to players worldwide.

Salone Sehgal, Founder and Managing Partner of Lumikai, noted that every major gaming nation has gone through a collectible card game boom, from Japan and China to the US, while the category remains severely under-penetrated in India with no market leader.
