Episode 2: Karuna Nundy x Salone Sehgal
In Episode 2 of Alpha Women, Salone Sehgal, Founder and Managing Partner of Lumikai, sits down with Karuna Nundy, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India.
In 74 years, the country's highest court has designated only 583 Senior Advocates, and fewer than one in ten have been women. Karuna joined them in January 2024. She helped draft India's anti-rape laws after the 2012 Delhi gang rape, fought for Bhopal gas tragedy survivors and represented Paytm in a landmark case enforcing India's first blockchain regulations. TIME named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2022.
In this episode, she reflects on the cost of fighting cases that take decades, why hard work is what makes brilliance possible, why lawyers will still need to show up in the age of AI and the discipline it takes to operate at the highest level.
