A decade ago, only 32% of women in India had access to smartphones and tech gadgets. As of 2022, 2 in 3 households in India have women using smartphones.
Within gaming itself, India is home to 507 million gamers, 43% of them being women.
The rise in the ratio of women consuming content in the country makes it imperative to build content for this audience, and at the same time highlight stories of those creators who are paving the path to growing representation.
We are proud to bring to you the Fourth Edition of Lumikai Pathbreakers, an initiative to showcase some of the bold, brilliant, and fierce women in the Indian gaming and interactive media industry.
